About Me

Born in Watford in 2001, I was raised in Southampton, where my family settled shortly after. Heavily influenced by my mother's Québécois heritage - including annual trips to Île d'Orléans - paired with growing up in British society, I developed a unique cultural perspective, which continues to shape my exploration of British identity in my work.

After graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2023, I was accepted onto a residency with ACME and started working from a studio in South London, where I am currently working on new projects that delve into themes of impermanence, decay, and the complexities of feeling disconnected.

Drawing from personal memories and the urban landscape, my work captures a sense of otherness and the fleeting nature of connection. Using subdued tones and ghostly imagery, I aim to evoke the transient quality of human experience, inviting viewers to reflect on the emotional resonance of memory and identity. My work serves as both a personal testament and a broader exploration of the human psyche, offering audiences a space to engage with the fragility of presence and the intricacies of selfhood.

Spring Issue 01, The Endless Summer Issue

Ordinary is a publication made as a collaboration between visual artist Mary O’Niell and journalist Ella Glover. Founded in 2023, the zine "seeks to inspire a different way of being" through showcasing work from a range of artists and journalists from a range of ages and backgrounds.

"Through creative expression, we hope to encourage people to take a slower approach to living and to soak in the beauty of every moment – even those that seem unremarkable." - Ordinary

Spring: it’s the season of new beginnings and new life. Once the winter weariness wears off, it’s almost like anything is possible. Maybe it’s just my brain playing tricks on me, making me think that the change in the weather and longer days mean that I’m able to accomplish more.

Maybe it’s the warmer weather, waking me up from my winter slumber, letting me be me again. Maybe it’s because it just so happens that it coincides with a moment of self-reflection within myself but either way it seems like life is getting warmer.

If I don’t worry about the possibility of everything crumbling around me and just focus on the now then maybe I could actually do something with my life. This season, the changing of the times, new beginnings makes me feel like maybe, perhaps I could make something of myself.
